Acupuncture in East Vancouver
Personalized acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine care at Cedarwood Therapy on Commercial Street. Emily and Hye Lee offer appointments with different treatment options, including general acupuncture, facial acupuncture and postpartum care.
Whether you are booking your first acupuncture appointment or returning with a particular concern, your visit begins with a conversation about your health history, goals and preferences. Your practitioner will explain the proposed treatment and discuss what feels appropriate for you.
Care centred on you
People book acupuncture for a range of concerns, including pain, muscle tension, stress and general wellness. Tell your practitioner what has brought you in, how your concerns affect daily life and what you hope to focus on. Your treatment plan is based on an individual assessment rather than a standard routine.
Acupuncture uses fine needles placed at selected points. Depending on your assessment and the appointment booked, your practitioner may also discuss Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques such as cupping, gua sha, acupressure or Tuina. These are not automatically included in every session; ask your practitioner what your appointment involves.

Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine
Emily and Hye Lee offer initial and returning acupuncture appointments. An initial visit allows time to discuss your health history and priorities, assess your concerns and provide treatment where appropriate. Returning visits allow you to review your experience and discuss the focus of ongoing care.
Women’s Health & Reproductive Support
Hye Lee offers dedicated appointment options for reproductive support and women’s health, including menopause-related concerns. Share your goals, current medical care and any relevant changes in your health. Your practitioner will discuss the scope of treatment and whether the appointment is appropriate for you. Acupuncture does not replace medical assessment or fertility care.
Postpartum Acupuncture
Emily offers postpartum acupuncture appointments for people seeking individualized care after birth. Let your practitioner know how far along you are in recovery, any birth-related concerns and advice from your maternity care team. Your comfort, positioning and treatment preferences are part of the conversation.
Facial Acupuncture — Emily
Emily offers a dedicated facial acupuncture appointment. This is a separate booking option from general body acupuncture and RMT facial massage. Discuss your comfort with needling and any relevant skin or health concerns before treatment, and check the appointment description in Jane for the current session details.
Facial Acupuncture + LED — Hye Lee
Hye Lee offers facial acupuncture and LED appointment options in several durations. There is also an option without facial needling; that appointment includes body acupuncture, so it is not a completely needle-free treatment. If you prefer to avoid facial needles, select the appropriate option and discuss your preferences with the practitioner before your visit.
Lymphatic Treatment — TCM Approach
Emily offers a lymphatic treatment using a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach. Depending on your assessment, this may involve acupuncture, acupressure or cupping. It is distinct from manual lymphatic drainage provided by an RMT. If you are seeking a specific hands-on MLD appointment, review the RMT options on our Services page before booking.
Acupressure / Tuina & LED Red Light Therapy
Hye Lee offers a dedicated acupressure / Tuina appointment for people interested in a needle-free, hands-on option. Standalone LED red light therapy appointments are also listed in Jane. These are separate services with their own durations and fees; check the treatment description so you choose the visit you intend to book.
View our Services page for current treatment descriptions, rates, practitioners and booking links. Options differ between Emily and Hye Lee, so please select the practitioner and specific treatment when booking.
Your first appointment
Complete the intake information requested by Jane before your visit. Bring questions and let your practitioner know about current medications, pregnancy, recent procedures or other relevant health information. Your booked appointment includes consultation and assessment as well as treatment where appropriate.
Your practitioner will explain the proposed approach and ask for your consent. You can ask questions, decline a technique, request a pause or stop treatment at any time. If you are unsure about needles or want to discuss alternatives, tell your practitioner before the session begins.
Rates, insurance & ICBC
General acupuncture, facial treatments, Tuina and LED sessions have different durations and fees. Refer to the Services page and the current appointment listing in Jane for accurate rates and what is included.
Direct billing is available for participating insurers, subject to your benefits and insurer requirements. Please check whether your plan covers the particular service you are booking; coverage should not be assumed for every facial, LED or combined appointment. For ICBC acupuncture, choose the appropriate ICBC visit and contact the clinic to confirm claim details and any applicable fees.
